It is my pleasure to be your ELA teacher this 2018-2019 school year! I have been a teacher for fifteen years - twelve of which have been in Marysville. This is my sixth year as a teacher at Marysville Middle School. At MMS, I have taught ELA, Reading, Social Studies, and Science. I also taught 4th and 1st grades at Morton Elementary. What I like most about being a teacher - that moment when it clicks for a student - it is so rewarding.
I am a graduate of the University of Michigan, Saginaw Valley State University, and Marygrove College. I hold teaching endorsements in Elementary Education (K-6), English (BA 6-8) and Special Education (SM K-12). I hold a Master's Degree in Reading and Literacy and a Master's Degree in Special Education Learning Disabilities. I am also a trained reading interventionist - certified in SERP (Special Education Reading Program), Orton Gillingham, Read Naturally, LANGUAGE, and RTI.
Personally, I am the mother of three grown-up people, grandmother of six, and mom to three toy poodles. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring places I've never been, cooking, gardening, watching historical dramas, reading (of course), and shopping for the unusual!
